OTRF Spring-Summer newsletter helps you ease back into activities, avoid injuries

After our extended time indoors, everyone is anxious to get outdoors. The Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Teaching and Research Foundation’s (OTRF) Spring-Summer newsletter will help make that transition easier and safer. The issue includes interesting and helpful information on protective headgear for softball infielders, a less well known, overuse baseball injury in young pitchers called osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) of the elbow, more reasons why you should exercise daily and even a new 30-minute daily resistance and flexibility conditioning program that will fit into even the busiest of schedules. Additionally, if you lift weights, are into bodybuilding, play football or are a laborer, you’ll want to read the article on pectoralis major tendon ruptures that are often misdiagnosed.

If you’d like to receive future issues of Active Bones, please email your full name and request to contactus@chudikmd.com/ and you will be added to the email distribution list. Past issues of the newsletter are available on the OTRF website at https://www.otrfund.org/e-newsletter/.
